Having taken the Bestial Blackened-Death Metal scene by storm with the release of their very limited and highly respected demo “In Utter Darkness“, Chilean WRATHPRAYER now return with their first full-length offering, called “The Sun of Moloch“. The album, which was originally announced to be released December 2011, was delayed to spring 2012 to finalize some extended measures. As it is a long anticipated release for many followers, Solemn Twentythree was able to exclusively attain, listen and review to the full and final cut of this monster already.
Wrathprayer, like a black-death adobe of old Katharsis, excels in crafting a dissonant, raw and tormenting audible darkness in this album as it starts out with a superb tormenting intro, which stands greatly apart to most cliché intro’s one may discover on various alike black-death releases. There’s an excellent flow throughout this entire album, with fell vibrant compositions that expel vast amounts of raw devoted emotions. Adding to that are a couple of subtle influences of old-school South-American death & thrash metal that are worked in to perfection, only to draw full circle with a soul crushing outro. Taking in the full atmosphere and structure of to this shattering relic, it is safe to say this is further darkness incarnate, and a fantastic follow up to their demo.
