SOLSTICE - "Blood Fire doom" Boxset

"Today, on the 31st of August I just signed a deal with German label CYCLONE EMPIRE to release the history of the band. Although it will NOT contain the early demo's of the band it will include a titanic amount of rare and unreleased material not readily available together for the first time as well as the standard albums and a DVD

Contained will be the "LAMENTATIONS" CD with bonus tracks being the "RAGNAROK" Demo from 1994,the "HALCYON" CD with bonus tracks being the "DRUNKEN DUNGEON SESSION" Demo 1997 (All FIVE tracks as opposed to the three track commercially available at the time), "DRUNKEN DUNGEON SESSION II" demo which is the cover version of CANDLEMASS' "Solitude" with KARL SIMON of THE GATES OF SLUMBER providing the vocals, "WINTER MOON RAPTURE" Chiswick Reach demo version from 1994 and more... "NEW DARK AGE" CD with bonus tracks being covers of TRESPASS and IRON MAIDEN. And finally the "SINISTRAL VISTA'S" DVD featuring full live sets from Lithuania in 1994, England in 2000 (Including the unreleased songs "BLOODFEUD" and "AEQUINOCTIUM II", The promotional video for "THE SLEEPING TYRANT", footage and interview from WOA 2000, Select cuts from various other live shows, Flyer and photo gallery.

In addition the Boxset will come complete with a book detailing the history of the band written by myself, where I shall recount numerous anecdotes and ramble incoherently a load of old bollocks in the vain hope of entertaining you all.

Each album will be remastered, and repackaged to give maximum value for money, with alot of original artwork lovingly restored by my mate after I leathered him with a pool cue and smashed his head off the table a few times. The individual CDs will have entertaining and informative liner notes written by Mr S**** of S*****, and a whole new thanks list where I shall thank alot of you who were not originally on the thanks lists in the futile hope you might buy me a drink should we meet.

Did I mention, that all the SOLSTICE CD's will be available too as separate issues at mid price with all the extras, except the DVD which will only come with the boxset.

Fett, selv har jeg bare "new dark age", så dette blir interessant. Hvordan er de gamle skivene i forhold.

God oppsummering det!
Sjøl liker jeg førsteplata best, men både Halcyon og New Dark Age er absolutt hørbare saker.
Lamentations er vel en av få plater jeg har kjøpt fordi jeg syntes coveret var fett, der jeg sto å bladde meg igjennom de nyankomne cdene på innova på Steinkjer i '94.

Fikk du med deg noen av "julekonsertene" med Black Sabbath-coverbandet til Robert som jobbet på Innova mens du bodde der ?
Må vel være noe av det nærmeste jeg har opplevd doom på Steinkjer - utenom den korte perioden jeg fikk spellt litt sjøl på Molly Razz

Lovingly remastered by ACHIM KOHLER of HOUSE OF AUDIO Studio in Germany(SODOM, SACRED STEEL, PRIMAL FEAR amongst many others) these are leagues ahead of the original pressings in audio quality, and with the added inclusion of bonus tracks, sleeve notes by the legendary RUSS SMITH of Black Tears and all new layouts, will be worth every penny of your hard earned beer money.

Reutgivelser ute nå! Løp og Kjøp!

Jeg fikk reutgivelsen av Halcyon i posten i dag og må si at jeg ble ikke skuffet. To Ride With Tyr er jo selvsagt skivas høydepunkt, men det var gøy å høre blant annet Candlemass' "Solitude" fremført av Solstice. De andre skivene er jo også selvsagt veldig bra og da spesielt "Lamentations" som har ekstremt mange bra låter som de som Eon lista opp over her ett sted. Solstice er absolutt et kvalitetsband av dimensjoner!
